The launch of SplashCast is something special. And, in my opinion, it will change how many of us will share our experiences with others across the world. Rather than going into a long explanation of what SplashCast is or how it works, I encourage you to play around with it and see for yourself just how powerful and entertaining it can be. In fact, visit their website and start broadcasting yourself across the web.

I happen to prefer the Mac platform, so my SplashCast is all about the Mac and how Apple has truly helped change how we all live and communicate on a daily basis.

The Mac Channels on SplashCast

About SplashCast

SplashCast is a Portland, OR based start-up that is bringing the power of media syndication to everyone. Using proven technology in development over several years, SplashCast is giving people the power to become their own broadcasting network across the Web.

The SplashCast service enables anyone to create streaming media ‘channels’ that combine video, music, photos, narration, text and RSS feeds. These user-generated channels can be played and easily syndicated on any web site, blog, or social network page. When channel owners modify their channel, their content is automatically updated across all the web pages ‘tuned’ to that channel.

SplashCast’s ‘skinless’ player allows the syndicated content to seamlessly blend into the subscribing page without compromising the branding of the host site. SplashCast also provides a level of security and trackability that is critical for content owners and creators, without limiting the content’s viral distribution potential.

Just as blogging transformed the status quo of Web-based text delivery and reporting, SplashCast is transforming the way rich media is published and syndicated. The service is free and completely Web-based. SplashCast will be introducing a revenue sharing model in the coming months.

Based on the vision of the company founders, SplashCast will be evangelizing the platform as the ideal solution to create and distribute channels of user-generated rich media content – all for everyday users.
